Breast Reduction & Lift
Breast reduction surgery is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the volume of large and heavy breasts, reshape them and bring them into better harmony with the body.
Who Is It Suitable For?
● Those who experience back, neck or shoulder pain due to large breasts
● Patients with bra strap marks
● Those who feel restricted in their daily movements
● Those who have difficulty choosing clothes
● Patients with breast asymmetry
Goals of Breast Reduction Surgery
● To reduce breast volume
● To achieve a firmer and more aesthetic appearance
● To balance body proportions
● To reduce physical discomfort
● To allow more comfortable sport and daily life
How Is the Surgery Performed?
Excess breast tissue, fat tissue and skin are removed. The nipple is moved to its aesthetic position and the breast is reshaped.
Recovery Process
● Two drains are placed. Discharge is usually possible once there is no more drainage, which takes about 2 days.
● Mild pain and tenderness may occur in the first days
● Daily activities can be resumed within a few days
What Is Breast Lift Surgery?
Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure performed to raise sagging breasts, reshape them and restore a youthful appearance.
● Pregnancy and breastfeeding
● Weight gain and loss
● Ageing – in these situations, sagging occurs due to the loss of skin elasticity. Breast volume is the most important parameter here.
● In patients with sagging breast tissue lacking volume, the lift should be performed with a breast implant. Not only should an implant be placed, but skin should also be removed. This is similar to swapping a watermelon for an apple inside a large bag: since the bag that carried the watermelon has stretched, it must be tightened if it is to hold its contents firmly. Therefore, skin removal similar to a breast reduction should be combined with implant surgery.
● In patients with sufficient breast tissue volume, a lift can be performed without an implant, in a way similar to breast reduction.
Who Is It Suitable For?
● Those bothered by breast sagging
● Patients whose nipples point downwards
● Those who complain of a lack of upper fullness when wearing a bra
● Breasts with sufficient volume but a deteriorated shape
● Those who want a younger and firmer appearance
